Encaustic portraits molten pigmented beeswax Janet Amundson-Splidsboel

Hello Friends and Art Enthusiasts,

It's been a while since I've posted. All of these are recent encaustic paintings, painted entirely with molten, pigmented beeswax (no mixed media).  Each layer of beeswax is fused to underneath layers of wax with a propane torch.
I have 2 upcoming shows, the first is "Beeswax Inspirations" from March 11, 2018 through May 6, 2018 at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Portland, 147 NW 19, 97209.  I'll be doing an encaustic demo on March 11 at 11 AM.  (Serena Barton will also be showing her paintings using oil and cold wax and will also do a demo showing her process).  The second show is the Lake Area Artists show at Lakewood Center in Lake Oswego, OR, April 20-22, 2018.
If you have questions about encaustic art or the upcoming shows please email me at janetsartstudio@gmail.com. Thanks all :)
