Figurative Plein Air

Jennifer is a favorite model.  I painted this 30"x15" oil painting of her yesterday in an outdoor garden setting.  Another painting I did this week of a different model, in the same style as this painting, is posted on my Facebook page.  -Janet Amundson-Splidsboel

"It Makes No Difference" Figurative encaustic of seated woman

"It Makes No Difference", 12" x 12" Encaustic on board with 2" gold frame. "This painting is done exclusively with molten, pigmented waxes. It is challenging and time-consuming to paint figures and portraits with molten wax. Each time more wax is added it must be melted (fused) into the previous layer of wax using a blowtorch." -JAS
