"Mother's Child" 12"x12" Encaustic painting (molten pigmented beeswax) by Janet Amundson-Splidsboel

                                            SOLD
I'm doing a series of encaustic paintings of women and children.  It is subject matter that has been painted by thousands, yet as a subject it remains timeless and universal.  Many themes in art are endlessly repeated, like trees and seashores and paths and pears and winding rivers; the challenge is to evoke an emotional response no matter how often the subject is painted. What are your thoughts?  -Janet Amundson-Splidsboel

  1. I love the way this painting really looks like encaustic. The translucency echoes the softness of the subject.
