This small 6"x6" encaustic floral (molten, pigmented beeswax) is one of 20 of my encaustic paintings (molten, pigmented beeswax) which will be shown at the Annual Garden Art Show at Crow Valley Pottery and Gallery ("The Cabin") on Orcas Island, WA, June 26 thru July 12, 2015. "The Cabin" is a historic Island landmark built in 1866 and is one of two gallery spaces, the 2nd one being a year-round shop in the heart of "downtown" Eastsound on Orcas Island.
While I lean toward painting the female figure, it is certainly the case that small florals and birds resonate with many viewers.
